Be Kind to Animals Week

We think every week should be designated as Be Kind to Animals Week, but the official event takes place from May 6 - May 12 every year.

Our books on animals are sometimes difficult to read, but for those who have seen firsthand the type of cruelty that many of these creatures face, it is important to share their stories and help spread the word on ways in which we can help to educate and inform others.

Behind the Dolphin Smile is the latest book to discuss the topic of dolphins being hunted in Japan and how attractions, such as SeaWorld have contributed to the deaths of many creatures used for entertainment. Author and activist, Ric O'Barry leads the fight to save dolphins around the world. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of his book go to Richard O'Barry's Dolphin Project of the nonprofit Earth Island Institute.

CAFO takes readers on a behind-the-scenes journey into the alarming world of animal factory farming and also offers a compelling vision for a healthier food system: one that is humane, sound for farmers and communities, and safer for both consumers and the environment. CAFO will also inform and influence the growing public movement of activists, farmers, policymakers, medical professionals, and consumers who are working to make our food healthier for ourselves, for domesticated animals, and the planet.

Following in the footsteps of celebrity advocates Jackie Chan, Michelle Yeoh, and Angelina Jolie, Black Market exposes the unsettling truth about the cruel exploitation and bureaucratic indifference surrounding the multibillion-dollar underground industry that drives wildlife exploitation.
